The Culinary Crew play a part in the 2011 Feast of Fields event

Posted on: September 17th, 2011 by mark No Comments

Our 2011 Island Feast will be held on Sunday, September 18 (1-5pm). Our 2011 Host is Marley Farm in Saanichton.

Over 16 years ago Marley Farm was established in the Mount Newton Valley.  The Marley Family had always dreamed of owning a winery and in the spring of 2000 that dream was born. Beverly, an ardent winemaker of many years, led the charge in getting the business set up.  Grapes were then planted and a winery was built.
The resident sheep and geese help with weeding and fertilizing, of the 5 acre vineyard. There are also horses, chickens, turkeys, ducks and pigeons. Each year many visitors are welcomed to the farm including school children who come for a hands-on farming experience, as well as groups of seniors who come for tea in the country.  All of which contributes to the family setting that the Marley’s are striving for.
