Jonathan Jones Restaurant Manager

A wandering resident of Victoria since his youth, Jonathan began his hospitality career in his late teens as he finished his high school studies. A career that began as a dishwasher at the Boston Pizza grew into a culinary adventure working at Earl’s and opening the Milestones on the inner harbor. From there relocation found Jon working out of Vancouver for some “Dragon” named Jim at Boston Pizza International. It was this period, as a corporate trainer that saw travels as far east as Ottawa, north to Whitehorse, and south to Killeen, Texas. Opening new restaurants and training staff in all facets of the business. Following that busy period, Jon found himself working at the store level for Boston Pizza inside West Edmonton Mall. There he found himself cheering for a woeful hockey club, yet enjoying how the booming economy had affected the foodservice industry. This stretch saw Jon’s family grow with the addition of his first son. Shortly thereafter, the journey led to the West Kootenays. Employment at a local golf club and a quiet place to raise a family were in store. Life changes found Jon back in Edmonton in the late 2000’s. It was here a career shift happened, the step away from casual dining into more formal settings. Years later the island came calling and Jon returned home to Victoria. Since returning he has continued with his extensive hospitality career, and added to his family. Jonathan has been a part of the Chateau Victoria team since 2013, and is proud to call Vista 18 his second home.
